What can you track in the Outbound Inbox?

You can toggle on and combine multiple tracking types:

  • Post Mentions
    See when your brand is mentioned in captions, comments, or stories — even if you’re not tagged.
    Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X

  • Comment Mentions
    Find brand mentions in replies and comment threads that are easy to miss.

    Platforms: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X

  • Hashtag Listening
    Track posts that use specific hashtags — like #BrandBastion or campaign-specific ones.
    Platforms: Instagram, TikTok

  • Brand Keywords
    Monitor YouTube videos for relevant keywords in the caption, even when there’s no mention or hashtag.

    Platforms: YouTube

  • Trending Posts
    Discover what’s going viral on TikTok — whether it’s a trending sound or a top-performing post in your industry.
    This is the "most outbound" type — it's about discovering content, not listening for mentions.

Top use cases

⚙️ How to set it up

  • Go to Engage > Outbound

  • Click on the Settings icon next to Outbound

  • Toggle on/off any of the following:

    • Post mentions

    • Comment mentions

    • Hashtags

    • Brand keywords

    • Trending posts

  • Define your filters

    • Include keywords (e.g., “review”, “dupe”)

    • Exclude competitors or unrelated themes (see below)

  • Click Save to start pulling in results


Taking action from the inbox

Once you’ve surfaced valuable mentions or trends, you can take action — either directly from the inbox or outside the platform, depending on the post type.

🗨️ Reply directly inside the platform

For supported post types — like Instagram mentions, Facebook mentions, and X mentions— you can engage with the content immediately from the BrandBastion platform, without switching platforms.

🔁 Mark as replied (when the action happens outside the platform)

Some content types can’t be replied to directly inside the platform due to API limitations. You can still engage with them externally (e.g., on TikTok or Instagram natively), then come back to the inbox and mark them as replied to stay organized.

These include:

  • Instagram media tags (tagged photos or videos)

  • Instagram hashtag listening

  • TikTok hashtag post listening

  • YouTube keyword listening

  • Trending Posts on TikTok

💡 Tip: Use internal notes to log more information or @mention a teammate for follow-up.
