Filters help you cut through the noise and surface the content that’s actually worth your time. Here’s how to use them to focus on what matters — and avoid what doesn’t.

Exclude irrelevant or risky mentions

Sometimes, what you don’t engage with is just as important.

  • Exclude competitor mentions
Avoid giving visibility to posts that also promote your competitors.
Example: Add competitor brand names to the Exclude field in your keyword filters

  • Filter out sensitive or off-brand content
Keep your inbox clean of political topics or controversial discussions that aren’t aligned with your brand voice.
Example: Exclude terms like “election”, “boycott”, or other flagged terms

Focus on high-intent engagement

Prioritize the mentions that have the most potential for brand value.

  • Surface posts from users with large followings
On Instagram mentions, you can filter by follower count to focus on creators with real reach.
Great for identifying organic influencer or ambassador opportunities

  • Combine brand mentions with strong intent signals
Only show posts where your brand is mentioned and paired with a word like “recommend”, “gift”, or “love”.
Perfect for prioritizing customer praise or conversion-ready mentions

  • Refine hashtag results with contextual keywords
Go beyond just tracking the hashtag — make sure the surrounding message aligns with your goals.
Example: Only show #YourBrand when “review” or “best ever” is mentioned in the caption

  • Filter by positive sentiment
Prioritize content where the tone is clearly positive.
Helps focus community management and outreach efforts on supporters, not critics

Refine TikTok trending posts

Trending content can be overwhelming — use filters to zero in on what’s culturally relevant and aligned with your brand.

  • Industry
Narrow down trends to your vertical — like Beauty, Skincare, or Fitness

  • Genre (for trending audio)
Filter by the type of music driving the trend — from pop and hip hop to electronic or indie

  • Location
Focus on the markets that matter most to your brand — global or regional

  • Date Range
Limit to the last day or 7 days to catch trends while they’re still gaining traction
