Permissions Needed to Connect Social Assets

This guide outlines the minimum permissions required to connect your social media assets to BrandBastion.

We ask for the minimum necessary access rights for you to be able to monitor and manage comments and posts on our platform.

Facebook & Instagram

To manage both organic and ad comments, we need access via Facebook Business Manager and the Instagram Graph API.

Permissions Required:

  • Email + Public Profile

  • Show list of pages

  • Read page engagement

  • Read ads

  • Instagram basic access

  • Instagram Insights

  • Page manage metadata

  • Page manage engagement

  • Page read user content

  • Read insights

  • Instagram manage comments

  • Instagram manage messages

  • Pages messaging

  • Pages manage posts

  • Instagram content publish (only if you publish via BrandBastion)

What level of access do you need to have to grant access to assets on the platform?

Role Requirements:

  • Organic: Moderator role on the Facebook Page

  • Ads: Advertiser role on the Facebook Ad Account

  • Instagram: Business account connected to a Facebook Page you have access to

🚨 Ad agency note: If you only have advertiser access on ad accounts but not on the corresponding Facebook Pages, comment coverage will be incomplete.


YouTube

Permissions Required:

  • Manage YouTube (to monitor/hide video comments)

  • Email

  • Profile

  • OpenID

What level of access do you need to have to grant access to assets on the platform?

Role Requirements:

  • Organic: At least Editor access on the YouTube channel

  • Ads: Standard-level access on the linked Google Ads account


X / Twitter

Permissions Required:

  • Profile information

  • Tweets

  • Manage account

  • Access to Twitter ads account

What level of access do you need to have to grant access to assets on the platform?

Role Requirements:

  • Organic: Logged into the Twitter account

  • Ads: Campaign analyst role


TikTok

Permissions Required:

  • Ad account management

  • Ads management

  • Reporting

  • DPA catalog management

  • TikTok Business

  • Ad comments

What level of access do you need to have to grant access to assets on the platform?

Role Requirements:

  • Ads: Operator role on the TikTok ad account


LinkedIn

Permissions Required:

  • Profile information

  • Manage profile

  • Manage profile feed

  • Read organization

  • Manage organization feed

  • Manage organization social feed

  • Organization admin

  • Read organization followers

  • Read 1st-degree connections

Role Requirements:

  • Must be an Admin on the LinkedIn company page
