Shopify product match overview
Shopify product match links a product BrandBastion identified in a post to the exact item in your Shopify catalog. Once matched, BrandBastion can pull live Shopify facts so you can reply with confidence and drop the right product link in seconds.
What you can do with a matched Shopify product
See Shopify details next to the product
When a product is matched, open Shopify details to view:
Product: title, vendor, product type, status, tags
Product link: online store URL (when available)
Variants: title, SKU, price, compare-at price (when available)
Inventory by variant: available quantity per variant
Inventory by location: summary of top locations by available quantity
Insert the correct product link into replies
In the reply modal, you can quickly copy or insert the product link for the matched item. No tab switching. No Shopify search.
Improve Agent+ answers to product questions
If Use Shopify product catalog to improve replies is enabled in AI skills, BrandBastion can ground Agent+ with Shopify product facts, but only for matched products.
Use this for questions like:
“Is this in stock?”
“Do you have this in size M?”
“What’s the price of X?”
“What variants are available?”
🚨 Alert - If a product is identified but not matched, BrandBastion will not include Shopify product info in Agent+ prompts for that product.
How matching happens
Automatic match
BrandBastion attempts to match automatically when the identified product includes a Shopify product URL.
How it works:
If the URL looks like a standard Shopify product URL (for example, it contains /products/), BrandBastion tries to extract the product handle and match directly.
If that fails, BrandBastion searches your catalog using product text like title or SKU.
📌 Note
Some URLs point to collections or pages instead of a product, or don’t follow standard Shopify patterns. Those usually need manual linking.

If BrandBastion can’t match automatically, link it yourself:
Click Link with Shopify product
Search your Shopify catalog by name, description, or SKU
Select the correct product to link
Once linked, Shopify details appear immediately for that product.
What happens after a product is matched
BrandBastion stores a mapping between:
The identified product in BrandBastion
The durable Shopify product ID
This keeps the connection stable over time and lets BrandBastion refresh Shopify details reliably, even if product titles change.
